Havana Salsa Standard Monthly Membership
Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 1 October 2026
1. About your membership
The Havana Salsa Standard Monthly Membership (“Membership”) gives eligible existing Havana Salsa students access to participating Havana Salsa classes across our network for a recurring monthly payment.
Membership is designed to give you greater flexibility to choose when, where and at what level you dance.
Subject to class availability, capacity and applicable booking requirements, Members may use their Membership to attend classes at participating venues, different levels and venues, and multiple classes during a Membership period.
Your Membership is personal to you and cannot be transferred or shared.
Membership does not automatically include separately priced events, workshops, festivals, dance tours or other activities unless expressly stated.
2. Eligibility
Standard Membership is intended primarily for existing Havana Salsa students already participating in the Havana Salsa programme.
Havana Salsa may determine from time to time who is eligible to purchase Standard Membership.
New L1 Beginner students should purchase the applicable L1 Beginner Membership unless otherwise directed by Havana Salsa.
3. Preferred home venue and initial course
During sign-up, you will be asked for a preferred “home” Havana Salsa venue and the course or class you initially intend to attend.
This information helps with capacity planning, understanding demand, allocating resources, marketing and conversion tracking.
Your selected home venue and initial course are operational information only and are not contractual restrictions on your Membership.
You may attend other participating Havana Salsa classes and venues, subject to availability, capacity and booking requirements.
Your preferred home venue and initial course may change during your Membership without requiring a new Membership purchase.
4. No course start-date restriction
Standard Membership is not linked to a particular course start date.
You may begin using your Membership from your Membership commencement date in accordance with applicable booking arrangements.
There is no requirement to join a particular course during Week 1, Week 2 or any other particular week.
Where a course has capacity restrictions, progressive learning requirements or other enrolment arrangements, Havana Salsa may recommend the most appropriate point to join. This does not remove the general flexibility of your Membership.
5. Membership commencement
Your Membership commences on the date your first Membership payment is successfully taken, unless a different date is expressly confirmed during purchase.
That date becomes your recurring Membership anniversary date.
Your Membership is therefore not automatically aligned to the first day of a calendar month.
For example, after the initial two month term, a monthly rolling payment Membership term will follow thereafter. Membership beginning on 6 September runs 6 September – 5 October, with the next payment on 6 October. A Membership beginning on 25 September runs 25 September – 24 October, with the next payment on 25 October.
6. Monthly membership periods
Your Membership is paid monthly but is subject to the minimum two-month commitment.
Each monthly Membership period runs from your payment/anniversary date to the day before the corresponding date in the following month.
Your recurring payment will normally be taken on the same calendar date each month.
There is no requirement for your Membership period to begin or end on the first or last day of a calendar month.
7. Recurring payments and Stripe
Membership payments are collected automatically using the payment method authorised by you through Stripe.
Your first payment is taken when you purchase the Membership. Subsequent payments will normally be taken automatically on your Membership anniversary date.
You are responsible for keeping your payment method valid, ensuring sufficient funds are available and keeping payment details up to date.
Payment processing is subject to applicable Stripe terms and policies.
8. Initial two-month commitment
Standard Membership has an initial commitment of two months, consisting of two consecutive monthly Membership periods beginning on your Membership commencement date.
For example, if Membership commences on 6 September, the initial term runs from 6 September to 5 November.
By purchasing Standard Membership, you agree to remain a Member and make applicable payments throughout the initial two-month term, subject to statutory cancellation rights, applicable cooling-off rights, the exceptional cancellation provisions in these Terms and any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You cannot ordinarily cancel during the initial term simply because you no longer wish to attend classes or choose not to use your Membership.
9. Monthly rolling membership after initial term
At the end of the initial two-month Membership term, your Membership will continue automatically on a monthly rolling basis unless cancelled in accordance with these Terms.
After the initial two-month commitment has been completed, you are not committed to another fixed two-month term. Your Membership continues one monthly Membership period at a time until cancelled or otherwise ended under these Terms.
You do not need to make a new purchase after the initial term. Your usual recurring monthly payment will continue on your Membership anniversary date until cancellation takes effect.
10. Membership pricing and price changes
Your membership will remain at the price paid when you join unless Havana Salsa introduces a future membership price increase. We reserve the right to increase membership prices from time to time.
Any future price changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice and in accordance with applicable law. Where required, we will explain when the new price takes effect and any cancellation options available to you.
11. Cancellation
You may give notice to cancel at any time. During the initial two-month commitment, cancellation will normally take effect at the end of that minimum term unless an earlier cancellation right applies. After the initial term, you may cancel the monthly rolling Membership and cancellation will take effect at the end of your current paid monthly Membership period.
Your Membership will normally remain active until the effective cancellation date, subject to payment of any amounts properly due and any earlier cancellation right that applies.
No further Membership payments will normally be taken after the effective end of Membership.
Cancellation does not ordinarily result in a refund of payments already made for the current Membership period, subject to statutory rights.
12. How to cancel
You may cancel using the online cancellation facility made available by Havana Salsa or by emailing membership@havana-salsa.co.uk
The online cancellation link or account facility will be clearly signposted on the Havana Salsa website and/or in your Membership account or confirmation communications.
You do not need to cancel in person with a teacher. If another reasonable cancellation method is introduced, the applicable process will be clearly communicated to you.
Havana Salsa will provide confirmation of cancellation. You should retain that confirmation.
13. Statutory cooling-off rights
Where Membership is purchased online or otherwise as a distance contract, you may have a statutory 14-day cooling-off right under applicable consumer protection legislation.
Where applicable, the cooling-off period begins when the Membership contract is entered into.
You may exercise an applicable cooling-off right without giving a reason.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes a statutory cooling-off right.
Where you request that Membership services begin before the cooling-off period ends, applicable law may permit Havana Salsa to charge a proportionate amount for services supplied before cancellation.
Where law requires an express request or acknowledgement before services begin during a cooling-off period, this will be obtained during purchase.
14. Early cancellation: serious illness or injury
In addition to statutory rights, Havana Salsa may agree to early cancellation where, after entering into the Membership contract, you experience serious illness or injury which means you are unable to participate in dance or other physical exercise for the foreseeable future.
You should contact Havana Salsa as soon as reasonably possible.
We may request reasonable supporting evidence from a doctor or other suitably qualified medical professional confirming that your condition prevents participation in physical exercise.
Where early cancellation is approved, Membership ends on the agreed cancellation date and no further payments will be taken after that date. Any refund will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances.
15. Early cancellation: significant unforeseen financial circumstances
In addition to statutory rights, Havana Salsa may agree to early cancellation where, after entering into the Membership contract, you experience a significant and unforeseen change in financial circumstances which means you are no longer reasonably able to afford the Membership.
Examples may include involuntary loss of employment, redundancy, a significant unexpected reduction in income or serious unforeseen financial hardship arising after the contract was entered into.
The circumstances must arise after entering into the Membership contract and could not reasonably have been anticipated at purchase.
We may request reasonable supporting evidence relevant to the circumstances.
Requests will be considered fairly and individually.
15A. Early cancellation: permanent relocation
In addition to statutory rights, Havana Salsa may agree to early cancellation where, after entering into the Membership contract, you permanently relocate to an area where it is no longer reasonably practical to access participating Havana Salsa classes.
We may request reasonable evidence of the permanent relocation and will consider the request fairly and individually.
16. Requesting exceptional early cancellation
Requests under the illness, injury, significant unforeseen financial circumstances or permanent relocation provisions should be made in writing to membership@havana-salsa.co.uk
Your request should explain the circumstances and provide any reasonable supporting evidence available.
Havana Salsa will consider requests individually and fairly and will normally respond within 7 days.
If approved, we will confirm the effective cancellation date, whether any further payment is due and any applicable refund arrangements.
No additional early cancellation fee will be charged where exceptional early cancellation is approved under these Terms.
17. Circumstances not normally covered
The exceptional cancellation provisions are intended for serious and unforeseen circumstances arising after the Membership contract is entered into.
They do not ordinarily apply where you decide salsa is no longer for you; choose not to attend; are away on holidays or planned commitments; experience a routine change; move location but remain reasonably able to use Membership; had the relevant financial circumstances before purchase; or simply decide not to continue during the initial committed term.
This does not affect statutory rights.
18. Class access and booking
Membership may be used to attend participating Havana Salsa classes across the network.
You may attend different venues and levels and more than once during a Membership period.
Membership does not guarantee access to every class irrespective of capacity.
Where advance booking is required, you must follow the applicable booking process.
Where a class is full, Havana Salsa cannot guarantee attendance at that particular class.
18A. Attendance and check-in
Members must check in with the Havana Salsa team when arriving at a class. Membership status may be verified electronically and attendance may be recorded for administration, capacity planning and service management. Your Membership ID must be presented at every class check in. Havana Salsa reserves the right to refuse entry where a valid Membership ID cannot be provided.
Members attending more than one eligible class on the same evening may check in for all intended classes at the start of the evening. If you later decide to attend an additional eligible class, your attendance record must be updated.
You must not check in another person or allow another person to use your Membership.
19. Course and level suitability
Although Membership provides flexibility across different levels, you are responsible for selecting classes appropriate to your experience and ability.
Havana Salsa may recommend or require a Member to attend a more appropriate class or level where reasonably necessary for safety, class quality, learning or progression.
Membership provides access to suitable participating levels; it does not create an unconditional entitlement to attend a class or level that the teaching team reasonably considers inappropriate for your current experience or ability.
20. Home venue flexibility
Your selected home venue is an operational preference and does not create an exclusive venue entitlement.
You may use Membership at other participating Havana Salsa venues.
Your home venue may be changed during Membership.
You do not need a new Membership to change your preferred home venue.
21. Events and additional activities
Standard Membership does not automatically include separately priced workshops, festivals, dance tours, private classes or other separately charged activities.
Where an event or activity is expressly included as a Membership benefit, it may remain subject to capacity, booking and stated eligibility requirements.
22. Missed classes
Membership payments are not calculated according to the number of classes attended.
You do not receive a refund or reduction because you attend fewer classes during a Membership period.
The value of Membership comes from the flexibility to attend participating classes during the applicable period.
Where you choose not to attend, Membership remains active unless cancelled under these Terms.
23. Failed payments
If a scheduled payment fails, Havana Salsa or its payment provider may notify you and/or attempt collection again.
You remain responsible for payments that have become due.
If payment remains outstanding, Havana Salsa may suspend Membership access until the outstanding payment is resolved.
Suspension for non-payment does not automatically cancel the contract or payment obligation already arising.
24. Programme changes
Havana Salsa may make reasonable operational changes to venues, class times, teachers, class levels, course structures and availability of particular classes.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes.
Nothing in these Terms guarantees continued availability of a particular venue, teacher, class or timetable throughout Membership.
Where an individual class is cancelled, relocated or unavailable, Members may use other eligible participating Havana Salsa classes where available. A change to an individual class, teacher, timetable or venue will not normally give rise to a refund where the wider Membership service remains reasonably available.
Where Havana Salsa makes a significant change that materially reduces the Membership service reasonably available to you, please contact us. We will consider an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
25. Membership conduct
Membership is conditional upon reasonable compliance with Havana Salsa venue, class and conduct requirements.
Havana Salsa may take reasonable action where a Member behaves abusively or threateningly, seriously disrupts classes/events, deliberately misuses the Membership system, shares/transfers Membership, engages in fraud, or creates a significant safety or wellbeing risk.
Any suspension or termination will be handled fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
26. Membership is personal
Membership is personal to you.
You must not share, sell, transfer or allow another person to use your Membership or account.
Havana Salsa may request reasonable identification where necessary to protect the Membership system from misuse.
27. Refunds
Where a refund is required by law, Havana Salsa will provide it in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
Except where required by law or agreed under an exceptional cancellation arrangement, payments already made for a current Membership period are not refundable simply because you choose not to attend.
Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts a statutory right to a refund.
28. Consumer rights and fairness
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any consumer right or remedy which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Havana Salsa intends these Terms to be clear, transparent and fair.
If any provision is found unenforceable or unfair under applicable law, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
29. Privacy and operational information
Personal information provided in connection with Membership will be processed in accordance with the Havana Salsa Privacy Policy.
Information about your preferred home venue and initial course may be used for operational planning, capacity planning, service improvement, marketing analysis and conversion tracking.
Your selected venue or course does not constitute a promise that you must attend it.
30. Payment processing
Membership payments are processed through Stripe and are subject to applicable Stripe terms and policies.
31. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
